Is Hot Springs National Park Worth It?

Hot Springs National Park contains more businesses than natural hot springs. We’ve compiled some of our favorite activities inside and outside Hot Springs, Arkansas.

▶ Quapaw and Buckstaff Bath Houses offer famous mineral water baths. Although it seems like a pampering treat, they can be pricey, rushed, and not so private. For active hot springs, check out this map of thermal springs throughout the United States.
Ozark Bathhouse is currently a museum filled with the history of bathhouses and original structures from the early 20th century. This building also serves as the Visitors Center, so don’t forget a souvenir!
▶Scattered across the town are free mineral water fountains containing elements such as Boron, Calcium, Sodium, and Sulfate. These nutrients are notorious for expanding brain function, increasing nerve communication, and strengthening bones. Feel free to splash some on your friends and fill up your water bottle!
Garvan Gardens, located 6 miles from the park, is full of unique architecture. The church and other structures are free to explore, but the botanical gardens require a $15 entry fee.
▶Popular hikes in the park include Gulpha Gorge (1.3 miles), Goat Rock (2.4 miles), and Hot Springs Mountain Trail (3.3 miles). These trails are primarily easy and deliver some gorgeous overlooks!

▶Petit Jean State Park is a forest-filled destination, home to one of the best waterfalls in the forest, Cedar Falls. Standing at 95 feet tall, this sight is well worth the 1.9-mile hike. You can even walk behind the waterfall for a quick trip to the splash zone!

▶Mount Magazine is the highest point in Arkansas at 2,753 feet elevation. Follow the windy road to the top, or stop at the Old Lodge Trail. This trail is a short .25-mile walk to an overlook of the beautiful Arkansas rolling hills.
