Our Ultimate Guide For a San Antonio Daytrip

The historic downtown San Antonio has a lot to offer! This guide showcases the must-see tourist spots as well as some lesser-known destinations.

A Morning At The Pearl

Lesser known than the famous Riverwalk, we headed to The Pearl District for coffee at Local Coffee. We got our caffeine fix and did some shopping in the square. Our favorite is Ten Thousand Villages, a fair-trade shop with international artisans.

Lunch At The Food Hall

Located in the central part of the district, The Food Hall has a collection of international food choices. After finally deciding on a Peruvian-Asian fusion restaurant called Botika, we filled our bellies by the fountain and soaked up the relaxing cloudy day.

River Boat Tour

We headed to the Riverwalk for a narrated boat tour to learn about the city’s history (and to get off our feet!). The ride allowed us to scope out the local missions and restaurants. Be sure to bring a blanket for the river breeze!

Afternoon At The Alamo

Established in 1718, the Alamo Mission is full of history. Entry into the church is free, but we recommend taking a guided tour through the Spanish mission for the full experience. With this tour, you will stand on battlegrounds of the Battle of the Alamo while learning about the fallen heroes.

Dinner At Rio Rio

After a day of sightseeing, we were on the hunt for authentic Tex-Mex. We enjoyed river-front views at Rio Rio while feasting on fajitas and sipping prickly pear margaritas! You will definitely get your money’s worth with these Texas-sized portions!
